THE 9TH CONGRESS OF AFRICAN SOCIETY FOR BLOOD TRANSFUSION

1st Announcement
The African Society for Blood Transfusion (AfSBT) in collaboration with the Tanzania National Blood Transfusion Services announces the 09th Edition of its Biennial Scientific Congress, taking place at The Tanzania Convention Centre in Arusha, United Republic of Tanzania from 19 to 22 June 2018. The Congress is running under the theme:
Reducing Maternal and New Born Mortality: The role of safe blood Transfusion”
The Congress is held in a different African country, every two years with the host country alternating between Anglophone and Francophone countries, and brings together world experts in the blood banking, policymakers and other key stakeholders who all have a role to play in the field of transfusion medicine. The Arusha 2018 Congress is expected to be attended by more than 350 delegates and shall be the ideal setting to renew friendships, make acquaintances, network with other professionals in the field, present their work and also find some time to visit the wonders of this beautiful country.
The Tanzania Convention Centre (TCC)
Located at the heart of Africa, midway between Cairo and Cape Town, lying in the outskirts of the Arusha City, The Tanzania Convention Centre (TCC) is a perfect venue for meeting requirements, and has a long lived best image in hosting international conferences and events in Tanzania and in the region as a whole

The official Hotel for the 09th Congress of the African Society for Blood Transfusion is the Ngurdoto Mountain Lodge. Within the same compound as the Tanzania Convention Centre, nestled between Mount Meru and Mount Kilimanjaro, the Ngurdoto Mountain Lodge is located within a lush coffee plantation stretching over 140 acres, with natural streams flowing from Mount Meru passing through the property. The flourishing vegetation and magnificent views of the snow-capped Mt Kilimanjaro and the towering Mount Meru, right in front of the lodge, is an absolutely awesome sight. This lodge is ideally located between Arusha town and Kilimanjaro International Airport, 27 km either way. The lodge has about 350 rooms ranging from presidential suites, executive cottages, deluxe and standard rooms.
